Amnium has been writing music since 2000. He has experimented with different sounds, from soft floating ambient to “dentist drill in yer ear” madness.
Whilst all this was happening he was also learning to play guitar. This overtook music writing for about 2 years and, at one point, he realized he hadn’t written anything for more than a year.
He says “From learning to play the guitar came a new perspective. I found a whole new way of looking at music, different writing techniques. Although most of my tunes don’t have any actual guitar playing in them - they were all started off by me, sitting down with a guitar, and playing around until something good happened.”
"Most of my music is well and truly ambient, but I do like to stray into madness for a bit, it is hard for me to stick to just one genre because I love all different types of music, from classical guitar to punk, electronica to avant-garde, all over the place -nothing too mainstream though ...
... there’s a lot of music being written in bedrooms nowadays, with a lot of new sounds and styles being discovered. I’m just trying to find my own sound that I love for my own enjoyment, and if other people like it then that's fine by me!!"
